In America, we think of vegemite as an exotic and somewhat horrifying foodstuff. But, my brother got me some as a white elephant gift, and it's quite nice. Savory beer lees is what I was promised, and savory beer lees is more or less what I got. It's truly excellent on crackers or toast, and I can scandalize my countrymen by having the courage to say so out loud. I heartily recommend it.
